ANIMA Investment Network

ANIMA Investment Network is a multi-country platform supporting the economic development of the Mediterranean. Its network gathers more than 70 governmental agencies and international business, innovation and financing networks. ANIMA is committed to favour a shared and sustainable economic development in the Mediterranean, in relation with Europe and the neighbouring countries. ANIMA participates, in association with a network of public and private, national and international stakeholders, to the development of investments and business partnerships, of innovation and entrepreneurship, and to the internationalisation of enterprises, in order to contribute to the creation of added-value and jobs, to an increased awareness of the environmental and social stakes, to the balanced partnership between North and South and to the economic integration of the countries in the region.




Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Montpellier

IThe Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Montpellier (IAMM) is an international institute of higher education, cooperation and research. It is one of the four institutes of the International Centre for Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies (CIHEAM), an intergovernmental organisation funded under a 1962 agreement ratified by the parliaments of the 13 member countries. CIHEAM is recognised as a "community interest organisation" by the European Commission. IAMM contributes to the production of essential knowledge and skills, required for building the capacity of executives in charge of agriculture, food and sustainable rural development in the Mediterranean and for developing countries bordering the Mediterranean.

Italian Chamber of Commerce for France in Marseille

The Italian Chamber of Commerce for France in Marseille (CCIFM) is a non-profit organisation which aims to promote and develop bilateral institutional, economic, commercial and cultural relations between France, Italy and Mediterranean countries. Its five main activity areas are: information; assistance to businesses; promotion; tourism; training. CCIFM implements specific activities in the agri-food sector: it organises promotional campaigns to distribution channels and connects the different players in the sector, notably through the organisation of business meetings.

General Authority for Investment

Established in 1971, the General Authority for Investment (GAFI) is the principal governmental authority responsible for promoting, facilitating, regulating investment and assisting investors worldwide to take advantage of the opportunities in the Egyptian market. GAFI’s mission is to enable and sustain Egypt's economic growth through investment promotion, efficient business services and advocacy of investor-friendly policies. GAFI also represents Egypt’s sole "One Stop Shop" for investment, which provides one window for creating a business and obtaining regulatory approvals. In 2010, GAFI has established “Bedaya Center for Entrepreneurship and SMEs development” to stimulate small and medium investments.


German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce

The German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce (GACIC) promotes business relations between Egypt, North Africa, the Middle East and Germany. With a membership base of 2,200 companies, GACIC is the largest bilateral business association in Egypt. It plays a pivotal role of support to the professionalization of Egyptian business through its support services to Egyptian companies that are looking to export to the European market. GACIC’s services include: sector-specific training in marketing, export opportunities, management tools, etc.; studies on market potentials; networking with European multipliers, business associations and potential partners.

University of Thessaly

The main functions of the Laboratory of Rural Areas of the University of Thessaly are: theoretical, practical training and educational support for students and young researchers; research on land planning and rural development, as well as on production systems, demographic phenomena, the management of small and medium towns, and the relationship between them and the surrounding rural areas. The Lab is actively involved in international and Mediterranean scientific networks which are working rural development issues. Finally, it specialises in the development of technological tools as a support to diagnosis and to the active participation of local actors in the development of specific territorial resources.

Union of Hellenic Chambers of Commerce and Industry

Established in 1992, the Union of Hellenic Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UHCCI) represents 59 local Chambers and 880,000 Greek enterprises. Businesses operating in the milk and dairy sector in certain Greek regions (Thessaly, Epire, Creta) are members of local Chambers. UHCCI and local Chambers are the connecting link between businesses and public administration, and provide their members with information and various services to improve the business environment and facilitate access to finance. UHCCI implements various programmes and community initiatives, and supports actions in favour of Greek enterprises, aiming at contributing to the strengthening of networking and information capacities.

ASTER is the Consortium among the Emilia-Romagna Regional Government, the Universities, the National Research Centres, the Regional Union of Chambers of Commerce and the regional entrepreneurial associations located in the region. ASTER coordinates the Emilia-Romagna High Technology Network, which consists in Industrial Research Laboratories and Innovation Centres, organised in Thematic Platforms. It supports the promotion of industrial research, technology development and the improvement of highly-skilled professionals in the field of technology transfer.


Slow Food

Slow Food is a global, grassroots organisation with supporters in 150 countries around the world who are linking the pleasure of good food with a commitment to their community and the environment. A non-profit member-supported association, Slow Food was founded in 1989 to counter the rise of fast food and fast life, the disappearance of local food traditions and people’s dwindling interest in the food they eat, where it comes from, how it tastes and how our food choices affect the rest of the world. Today, we have over 100,000 members joined in 1,500 convivia –our local chapters– worldwide, as well as a network of 2,000 food communities who practice small-scale and sustainable production of quality foods.


Slow Food Italy

Slow Food Italy is a non-profit organisation that works across the country through 285 local groups, called convivia. Slow Food Italy links the pleasure of good food with an ethical commitment towards local communities and environmental protection, counteracting the standardisation of taste and culture. Slow Food Italy works on many levels: safeguarding biodiversity; promoting food and taste education; creating and implementing a network that links sustainable producers with all actors in the food chain. This network is called Terra Madre.

CCIA of Zahle and Bekaa

The Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of Zahle and Bekaa (CCIAZ) is a non-profit organisation created in 1939, representing the interests of the commercial, industrial and agricultural sectors in the Bekaa region. It provides information and statistics, facilitates contacts between members, local authorities and foreign embassies, resolves disputes among members by means of reconciliation or arbitration, and facilitates the participation in international exhibitions. CCIAZ focuses on SMEs and entrepreneurship and gives special attention to the agriculture and agri-food sectors, concentrated in the Bekaa region, through diverse activities such as extension services to producers, capacity building, accounting and business development services. It also established a Food Quality Center offering R&D and Laboratory services.


Lebanese Ministry of Agriculture

The Lebanese Ministry of Agriculture (MOA) is the institution responsible for setting the agriculture strategic framework, as well as formulating and implementing policies/programmes for the development of the sector in Lebanon. MOA is responsible for developing a suitable legal and regulatory framework, and enhancing infrastructure development to promote investment and improve agricultural production and marketing. MOA also plays an important role in the country’s natural resources management and contributes to rural development programmes. The Economy, Industry and Marketing Service (EIMS) within the MOA is particularly responsible for the management and organisation of the dairy sector.”

Bizerte Cluster

The Bizerte Cluster (PCB) is part of a public-private partnership. It includes three components: the Agri-Food Technopark, as a facilitator for the agri-food sector; high-quality industrial space with an area of 150 ha; a network of 30 regional, national and international partners. The Agri-Food Technopark assists companies in their development through individual or collective technical support and a flow of relevant information. It also contributes to the development of collaborative R&D, entrepreneurship, innovation and business support with a view to increasing competitiveness through continuous improvement, anticipating changes in the environment, innovating, strengthening technological skills, and creating a collective dynamic


National Agricultural Bank

Since its establishment in June 1959, the National Agricultural Bank (BNA) has played a key role in Tunisia’s economic and financial development, and positioned itself as a leading bank in financing agriculture, while being universal, responsible, modern and close to the Tunisians. BNA, with its dense network covering the entire territory of the Republic, offers its customers a wide range of products and services that best meet their needs. The Bizerte Regional Development Association (DERB) is a sustainable development association. It supports the implementation of sustainable development projects in the Bizerte region and seeks to advance public debate in parallel with public reflection. DERB is organised around three activity areas: debate (publications, seminars, conferences); provision of human capital (diagnosis and prospective); knowledge sharing and support to entrepreneurship (training-coaching of innovative entrepreneurs, public policy evaluation). Its priority areas are: innovation, entrepreneurship and international cooperation; human capital and sustainable development of the Bizerte region).
